The rule of thumb for matching stools to a table is to allow ten to thirteen inches between the top of the stool and the bottom of the bar table. Having these measurements will ensure the most comfort.

If you prefer stools that also have arms, your measurements will be different. Just make sure that the stool can be easily pushed under the bar.

When shopping for basement bars, keep in mind the number of stools that you want. Most stools comfortably fit twenty-five to thirty inches apart from the center of the stool seat to the next one.
